Elle tens helped alot!!

Tuesday, January 24th, 2012

I finally gave birth the 4th January 2012 (1 week over due time) to a wonderful boy!

I used the Elle Tens from the outset, with the help of my husband who placed the electrodes for me!

After having used it for more than 1 hour, I wasn’t sure that it was really working, but once I took it off, I realised that Elle tens was helping a lot!!!!

Having tried the machine myself, I am confident to market this product in Denmark and to recommend it to other mothers to be.

Intro – Which TENS will suit you best?

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

Suiting things to your personality seems all the rage these days.

Psychometric tests indicate what careers you’re destined for, Facebook and Google are crammed with quizzes and tests demonstrating ‘What is your perfect pet?’, ‘What type of friends should you socialise with?’, ‘Which car will suit you most?’, ‘Which plant will suit you least?’…the list goes on.  However, I have not yet found a personality test for pregnant women!  Why should they reap different results I hear you cry?…Oh didn’t you know women totally change as soon as they get pregnant?…Just ask their other halves!…Ok, so not everyone totally changes but on a more serious note, it is true that pregnant women do require a few alternative things to what they did before – different clothes, different foods, different ways of relaxing, each different for each woman.  One thing on a pregnant woman’s mind is her choice of pain relief in labour and childbirth.  Many women choose to use a Babycare TENS machine.  The question is which one do you choose?

As you have probably seen on our Babycare TENS website we have a selection of TENS machine for labour and childbirth to hire and buy.  They are the Obi TENS, Femme TENS, Lady TENS and Elle TENS, all effective but all slightly different to suit the different needs of our clientele.  Here are some suggestions as to what in each are likely to suit whom.

Summary: Acupressure to relieve Pregnancy Discomfort

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

Pregnancy is an exciting time for women yet it does bring along a number of challenging health conditions that are temporary but uncomfortable. Using acupressure can help a pregnant lady deal with morning sickness, back pain, relaxation, indigestion, nausea and other issues in a natural way. Acupressure is an ancient Chinese technique similar to acupuncture. The difference is that acupressure uses finger pressure  and acupuncture uses needles. The purpose of acupressure is to facilitate in activating and stimulating the body’s own energies and resources so that it can fight illness and restore inner balance. Restoring this balance is a real need during pregnancy.

Read our articles on how acupressure can relieve different conditions experienced during pregnancy.

Acupressure to ease Back Pain during Pregnancy

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

You’re later on in your pregnancy now and that baby is eating away and putting on the pounds.  There are smiles all round when the nurse at the check up says that the baby seems to be gaining weight nicely.  However, with the growing bump comes some growing pains for you, one very common one being back pain.  For those who experienced back pain before pregnancy, it’s very possible that it will return, however there are many women who have never experienced any back problems but will during pregnancy due to the strain on their back from carrying their bump.

Whether it’s sciatica, upper back pain or aches around the lower back, acupressure is a good way of easing that pain which you can do to yourself at any time and it’s free!

Acupressure is pressure most commonly applied by the index finger and the thumb to specific areas of the body called acupoints, which, when stimulated, can decrease a sensation such as pain.

Here are a couple of points to try out for back pain, each done for 1-2 minutes (should be an aching sensation after the first few seconds):

  • Point 1 can be found in that webby bit of skin between the big toe and second toe.
  • Point 2 is found four fingers breadth below the kneecap and slightly to the outer side of the leg.

If you can get someone else to do these to you, even better but certainly not a requirement.

Enjoy and let us know how they go or if any other acupoints have worked for you for back pain.
